3D Altered Beast, known as 3D Juuouki (3D 獣王記) in Japan, is a Nintendo 3DS re-release of Altered Beast and is part of M2's 3D Classics range. It is derived from the Sega Mega Drive version of the game.
Additional features include 3D effects, two-player co-op via local wireless, a filter to emulate the look of older televisions, customizable controls, the choice of playing the Japanese or International versions, and a "Random Form" mode where the kind of transformation the player gets is random in every stage.
