Story
Bart Simpson is reading his favorite comic book, Radioactive Man, late at night in his treehouse, but notices that Radioactive Man is absent. Bart wonders who will save Radioactive Man when Fallout Boy, Radioactive Man's sidekick, suddenly appears. Fallout Boy tells Bart that he must venture into the comic book universe in order to save Radioactive Man, who is being held captive at the black hole-orbiting prison Limbo Zone.
Gameplay
The game is a side-scrolling platformer played as Bart Simpson in his superhero alter-ego "Bartman." It is divided into four chapters. In the first three chapters, Bartman must defeat three super villains that have stolen Radioactive Man's powers: Swamp Hag, Dr. Crab, and Lava Man. After collecting these powers, Bartman must find Radioactive Man and team up with him to defeat Brain-O the Magnificent, the mastermind behind the evil plot, in the final chapter.
Bartman moves with or . He ducks with and jumps with . He attacks by punching and kicking with . He can obtain Mighty Powers that give him enhanced abilities, such as the ability to fly or shoot lightning bolts from his eyes, by collecting power-ups. Mighty Powers only last for a limited amount of time or number of uses.
In some levels, Bartman flies as the screen autoscrolls like a shoot-'em-up. In these levels, he moves in any direction using the D-Pad and punches with .
Bartman has five health points and loses one if he takes damage from an enemy. He loses a life if he loses all of his health points and loses the game if he loses all of his lives. He restarts at a predetermined checkpoint in the level after losing a life. The game can be continued a limited number of times.

The Limbo Zone
Some levels contain an icon that warps Bartman to the Limbo Zone if he touches it. If Bartman can survive 60 seconds in the Limbo Zone, he skips to the next level; otherwise, he returns to the same level. If he stands in one spot for too long, the screen shakes and he is knocked off the platform.
History
A Sega Master System version was planned but ultimately cancelled, reportedly as the system was viewed as obsolete.
