For all intents and purposes the
Sega Game Gear was not considered by the general public to be a very "portable" device, despite its claims of gaming on the go. To compensate
Sega released a number of official
Game Gear Carrying Cases.
There are two official sizes of Game Gear carrying case; "standard" and "deluxe", both seldom seen outside of North America and officially known as the Standard Carrying Case and Deluxe Carry-All Case respectively. Both have the same function - to help transport the Sega Game Gear unit along with some games and some accessories. As you would expect, the deluxe model is bigger than the standard model, though ironically the deluxe model is also more common as more were produced, meaning it became the standard case instead.
Outside of North America this accessory is far less common. The Carry-All by ASCII was adopted instead.
