The Sega Game Gear was heavily marketed in nearly every region Sega operated in during the 1990s—North America, Europe and Australia, and Japan. The wide variety of commercials produced for the system emphasized its color capabilities over the Game Boy and showed off the library of titles available for the Game Gear. European and Japanese markets especially emphasized the Sega Game Gear TV Tuner as a selling point for the system, though early American ads also reference the accessory.
