Oh Mummy Genesis is an unlicensed Sega Mega Drive game developed and published by 1985 Alternativo. It was released in October 2012 and serves as an unofficial update to the game Oh Mummy, originally released by Gem Software for the Amstrad CPC, MSX and ZX Spectrum in 1984. As well as providing a port of the original version, Oh Mummy Genesis features an updated version with a storyline, enhanced graphics and sound. 1985 Alternativo released the game as freeware in 2013 after stocks of boxed cartridges of the game ran out.

This game later was also included in the multi-cart release, Mega Games Almanac in 2019. This version has been completely rewritten; with new bosses, new bonus stages, new graphics, polished gameplay, and now compatible with Mega QR.[3]

Story

Note: The sentences were changed slightly from the original game due to it having grammatical errors. Another way that this storyline was changed from the original was to making the text sound better. This storyline still stays true to the original.

Lance Colton and his friend Eve Chou have been appointed head of an archaeological expedition sponsored by the British Museum, being sent to Egypt to explore the newly found pyramids with the task to discover the 5 royal mummies and as much treasure as they can. Unfortunately, the Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs left behind guardians to protect their royal tombs. Can they escape unharmed from traps and guardians, bringing with them the treasures left by the Pharaohs?
