Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders is an arcade game released for Sega Model 3 hardware in 1997. It was officially the first game to utilize the Sega Model 3 2.0 hardware, which ran at 166 MHz.

Gameplay

In Harley-Davidson & L.A.Riders, the player chooses one five different Harley-Davidson models and characters. After selection is decided, the player's goal is to complete a series of checkpoints around the city of Los Angeles under a time limit. The number of stages depend on the machine's settings. It can be three, four, or five stages. The CPU randomly determines the checkpoint location and course route. The player also has to collect as many hidden items, such as "tokens" similar to the Harley-Davidson logo symbol. These tokens are scattered along certain areas of Los Angeles and give bonus points, and occasionally, a number of time extended. Number of points or seconds of time awarded for each bonus item depend on the location of the item.

During gameplay, the player has the ability to change the view of the bike, select several different music pieces, and honk the bike with the start button. Like in any motorcycle racing game, the player can use Automatic or Manual Transmission. With Manual Transmission the player has to shift gears via his/her left hand-grip.
