Sega Klubben (Sweden)

From Sega Retro

Sega Klubben was an official Sega membership service in Sweden.

Dennis Bergström Elektronik

Bergsala AB which was a distributor of Nintendo in Sweden since 1981 founded the Nintendo club. The club became popular, so Dennis Bergström Elektronik decided to set up a similar club associated with the Sega Master System. So the Sega club was created. Members got a Sega Posten magazine in which they could find information about new games. Initially, the Sega club was run in the afternoons and evenings. An important aspect of the club was support, which was held via the Sega hotline in the afternoon between 15-17. When the player got stuck in the game, did not get games or accessories or had other questions, then he called the hot Sega line.

Brio

Sega Klubben

Distributor of Sega since 1990 has been Brio. The company also owned a club associated with Sega. In addition to support and club services, Brio also had a store with t-shirts, bags and other gadgets from Sega, which members could buy.

Brio sent members' bulletins to the club. These bulletins were called Sega Official Software News.In 1992, Brio offered a new magazine called Sega Force to club members.

Sega Power Club

With the Sega 32X defeat and the increase of the more competitive magazine for players, Sega Force was closed. Brio began the start of a new club called Sega Power Club. Members were given the newly created Sega Power Magazine.

Brio closed Sega Hotline and Sega club in 2001.[1]
