Ballistic

I hear Ballistic were a publishing label divised by Accolade for Sega consoles (similar to Flying Edge/Acclaim - i.e. not a separate company so no "co-publishing" involved). There was a page once for Ballistic, but it was deleted and I can't remember why.

Ballistic gave us the unlicensed Mega Drive games (aside from Ishido which is their oldest MD release). After the lawsuit, I think the name was dropped and Accolade took responsibility for things again. So I think the better way of detecting unlicensed games isn't so much to look at the ROMs, but instead the packaging.

I don't know if any "Type C"s were released without a license. These have been sportted with Sega Seal of Quality stickers, presumably added after the lawsuit, but the packaging itself was designed before Accolade got their license. And all those "type C"s were later re-released in Europe with official Mega Drive branding

it also helps to date them. Accolade released lots of things in 1993. -Black Squirrel 12:57, 22 August 2011 (CDT)

Oh and I have no idea what's going on with Super Off Road. Cartridge says licensed, packaging says otherwise. -Black Squirrel 13:06, 22 August 2011 (CDT)
