VR-1 is a medium-scale virtual reality motion simulator developed by Sega AM3 and Sega AM5 for installation at flagship theme parks like Joypolis and SegaWorld.

Only a single game was developed for the hardware, Space Mission.

History

The simulator’s virtual reality headset would later see use in 1995’s Sega Net Merc hardware.

Locations

Present at the July 1994 opening of Yokohama Joypolis as a staple of the Sega theme park experience, it would be featured at a number of the company’s premiere locations.

No VR-1 units are thought to currently be in service today.
