The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999 (ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズ ドリーム・マッチ 1999) is an entry in the The King of Fighters series that serves as an updated version of The King of Fighters '98, and was released among other systems for the Sega Dreamcast in 1999. It was not released in Europe.

The King of Fighters 1999 was once set to be a launch title for the Dreamcast in the US[2], but was delayed at the last minute, arriving in late October.

The King of Fighters '99 is compatible with the Dreamcast to Neo Geo Pocket Color link cable, which allows you to transfer stats between it and The King of Fighters R-2.

The game was followed by The King of Fighters: Evolution, which is based off the NeoGeo arcade version of "The King of Fighters '99", leading to some name confusion among the entries.

Gameplay

A weak kick, B strong kick, X weak punch, Y strong punch and L/R provoke (using an Arcade Stick Z and C provoke).
