G.G.Hotline talks about Sega's G.G.RPG initative, which includes Eternal Legend, Phantasy Star Gaiden, シャダム戦記 and Arliel. シャダム戦記 is described as a slightly unusual anime-like RPG that has 7 chapters set in Arabia. The screenshot and artwork shown are both from Defenders of Oasis.

as「シャダム戦記」. Scheduled for release next January. Mentions all the characters who can join your party and how the speed stat affects battle. The screenshots depict in-game moments as early as chapter 1, and Sega is commended for making good use of the Game Gear's LCD screen.

as「シャダム戦記」. Scheduled for release January 17. The game is said to be a story-oriented RPG and pairs nicely with Arliel.

as「シャダム戦記」. G.G.Hotline talks about a "full-fledged G.G.-original RPG", meant as bait-and-switch between Phantasy Star Gaiden and シャダム戦記, with it said that this game is regarded as a Game Gear masterpiece even within Sega. Some of the features it introduces are the Arabian setting, strong graphics and method for acquiring new party members.

Reported as 100%, scheduled for release January 11. It mentions the the game being extremely well-polished, its autosave feature and some more Arabian Nights characters. More in-depth coverage is teased for the next month.
Logo-pdf.svg 1992-09-08 Beep! MegaDrive (JP), "October 1992" "BE-Mega dog race"
the game's description reads "The first G.G. software to use 4 megabits is a classic RPG set in the Middle East during the Middle Ages. With an Arabian atmosphere, battles unfold between kingdoms and countries. Contains 5 chapters."

Reviewers consider it a standout RPG on Game Gear, if not especially unique outside of its Arabian setting and having slightly lackluster combat. Game beginner girl 青山ようこ mentions some of the familiar aspects to come from its setting and recommends it to players familiar with Prince of Persia. Foreign game user OLIX光治 finds the early game story very predictable, but the pace and ease of play make it a feel-good experience. Game mania group ハイローラーズ's 超 says it is very suitable for portable gaming with its autosave feature and small, simple map. They also quote a line from genie's cool voice. General game user ジャムおじさん says the game has a solid setting and concept with a fascinating way in which party members join up, recommending it everyone with a Game Gear.

Shadam Crusader is the highest-rated game of the week and is mentioned again in the final recommendation for every reviewer except the foreign game user.

Reported as 100% complete, releasing on August 18 for ¥5,500. It mentions the game's status as the first 4-megabit G.G. game and its audacity to be set in a different climate than most mediaeval fantasy games. It also mentions that the game went through a title change and several delays. Profiles are given for the 4 party members and a brief description of all 5 chapters (no screenshot is given for chapter 5), as well as mentioning that combat is determined by a character's speed stat instead of being turn-based and that the game's graphics could be described as "exotic".

The Game Explanation gives a summary of the prologue, and the writer says they felt good as soon as they turned on the game, wowed by the visuals and music. The One Point Review says that RPG fans will be overjoyed by this month's offerings, and that Shadam is the frontrunning purchase for being on the same level as Arliel.
