The title screen has a registered trademark symbol in Japan, and uses different wording for the "PRESS START" text.

Slightly different options screens. By default, the Japanese version gives 5 credits while the overseas version only gives 3. Both versions have 3 lives per credit, though the overseas version represents it with "3" on this screen instead of "2" (0 counting as a life in both games).

Character heights are measured in feet and inches in the overseas version, while in Japan it is just feet.

When characters are hit by sharp objects, there is blood spatter in the Japanese version (like the arcade game). In the overseas version, you just get the standard small explosion effect.
