On the title screen, press HOLD A+B+C START  to access the first of three graphics viewers. The first shows background graphics, the second sprite graphics, and the third a list of all the "objects" the game has defined.

Graphics can be changed by holding A and pressing Up or Down. Holding B instead changes attributes and holding C changes the palette.  START  moves on to the next screen[1].

Enter "RECORD" or "OGOSHI" as a password, then play the game normally. After a game over, return to the options menu and enter "REPLAY" as a password. Now when starting the game, you will be able to watch your previous attempt.

Enable X position counter

Enter "LOCATE" as a password, then start the game normally. The code adds a hexadecimal counter in the top right which increments as you move through the stage, likely for the purposes of debugging.
