Hiroki Murakami (村上 宏樹) joined Sega subsidiary Hitmaker in 2003 as an artist, creating backgrounds for online PC games, arcade card games and gun shooters. His time at Sega AM3 was also spent improving the efficiency of the production workflow, resulting in him being entrusted with technical artist duties. Later, following a restructure, he became involved with mobile game development, such as being the lead creator of background models for D×2: Shin Megami Tensei Liberation.
