NEW YORK, NY (March 5, 1997) - Grammy Award-winning artists Beck and Coolio are both set to perform at MTV's GameWorks Premiere Party Special live from the grand opening of the premiere GameWorks location in Seattle, Washington. MTV's live one-hour GameWorks Premiere Party Special airs Saturday, March 15 at 8 PM (ET/PT).
Hosted by MTV personalities Peter King, Simon Rex, and Carmen Electra, MTV's exclusive coverage of the star-studded GameWorks grand opening gives viewers the first ever look at GameWorks(TM), the new entertainment venture inspired by DreamWorks SKG, Sega Enterprises and Universal Studios, Inc. Coverage will include an on-site tour, profiles of all major games, celebrity interviews and game competition, and performances by Coolio and Beck. Additional MTV/GameWorks special programming includes a three hour pre-game show taped in and around Seattle preceding the one hour live telecast.

The opening of the Seattle GameWorks in March 1997 will be followed by the opening of GameWorks Las Vegas in May 1997 and GameWorks in Ontario, CA in the summer of 1997. GameWorks will have over 40 locations by the year 2000.
