SEGA GOES TO EXTREMES WITH STEEP SLOPE SLIDERS

Two New Arcade Hits Also Headed for Sega Saturn Line-Up

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- (November 4, 1997) --
The holiday season just got a lot hotter across America. But don't blame El Nino. "Steep Slope SlidersTM" Sega® of America's new high-speed, 3D snowboarding game, will be heating up Sega SaturnsTM in even the coldest cities this winter. The game will be available mid-December.

Sega also announced two new arcade conversions coming to Sega Saturn, starting with the digital Olympic-style games of "Winter HeatTM in January, followed by the ghoulish shooter "House of the DeadTM in April. These games join two previously announced Sega Saturn releases scheduled for first quarter 1998: the highly anticipated RPG "Panzer Dragoon SagaTM and Yuji Naka's 3D action adventure "Burning RangersTM" both shipping in March.

"In a continued effort to focus our product development and marketing efforts on our core gaming customer, we're adding titles to the line-up that tested best with our Sega Saturn user base," said Lydia Gable, group director of marketing, Sega of America. "These particular titles define the "Hard Stuff" concept gamers are seeing in our current advertising campaign."

GAME DETAILS:
"Steep Slope Sliders": It's full 3D snowboarding action where technical and artistic talents come into play. Shred down seven courses set in five different countries. Get aggro on the extreme courses or just "go off" in the half-pipe. You can even test your raw natural skills on the alpine course, or show off your creativity on the snowboard park course. Turn tricks off of cliffs, ramps, half-pipe walls and even abandoned cars. Check out the four additional hidden courses. Once you've mastered the snow, try your luck on the Asteroid Belt or the Astro Pipe -- they're out of this world, literally. Movement is completely unhindered. Choose from four boarders, then earn the additional four bonus and seven hidden boarders, including a dog, UFO, penguin, buggy car and a paper man. SRP: $39.99.

"House of the Dead": It takes more than a missing body part to stop these freaks dead in their tracks. They just keep coming, even after taking multiple shots to their decaying arms and legs. And don't expect these hideous half dead creatures to just pop up and stand still in the background they come at you with a vengeance. Featuring full 3D polygon graphics, "House of the Dead" is Sega's latest arcade shooter reloaded and ready for the Sega Saturn. SRP: $39.99.

"Winter Heat": This one-to-four-player game recreates eight winter sports events in crisp, polygonal graphics. A test of many skills, "Winter Heat" sends you flying off the Ski Jump, racing for the bottom in the Downhill, maneuvering the moguls in the Slalom or sprinting to the finish in the Short Track Speed Skate, just to name a few events. SRP: $39.99
