Capcom's Survival Horror Now Available on Sega Dreamcast

SUNNYVALE, Calif., - Novermber 15, 2000 -Capcom® today announced the arrival of two of their survival horror franchise products, Dino Crisis™ and Resident Evil™ 3 Nemesis for Sega Dreamcast. The third in the series of Sega Dreamcast releases, Resident Evil 2™, will ship this December. Produced by Shinji Mikami, creator the award-winning Resident Evil and Dino Crisis series, these titles showcase the talents of one of the industry's most talented producers. Worldwide, the entire Resident Evil series has sold more than 17 million units. The Dino Crisis franchise, introduced last year, has sold more 3 million units worldwide. All three titles contain enhancements to previous versions giving Sega Dreamcast owners an all new experience. All Capcom survival horror products are rated 'M' for mature gamers only by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.

"This combination of survival/horror games is arguably one of the most successful franchise in the history of video games," says Todd Thorson, director of marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "These games feature incredible visuals, compelling storylines, and Capcom's ingenious ability to create environments that overwhelm the player with suspense and drama. These games have enjoyed incredible success worldwide and Sega Dreamcast owners will be delighted these will be available this holiday season."

In Dino Crisis, players assume the role of Regina, a member of a special force operative team on a mission to capture Dr. Kirk and seize the detailsof his research. Dr. Kirk's revolutionary experiment created the ultimate energy source dubbed 'Third Energy,' and when released, it can provide new life to a polluted planet Earth starved for power. When the unstable properties of Third Energy are discovered, it becomes clear it could be used as a diabolical weapon capable of mass devastation. As an unexpected side effect, Third Energy's power opens dimensional portals or rifts in time. Now dinosaurs have traveled through the portal and threaten mankind's very existence. In Dino Crisis, players will experience the panic of facing off against the most terrifying predator ever to walk the earth.

Dino Crisis for Sega Dreamcast will include the following new enhancements:

- The number of bullets is shown on the Visual Memory.

- Players can view their vitality and character status on VMU while playing.

- Fully polygonal game provides enhanced graphics, backgrounds and characters.

- More realistic looking levels due to the power of Sega Dreamcast and its ability to handle real-time elements.

In Resident Evil 3 Nemesis players see the return of Jill Valentine, heroine and amazing survivor of the nightmare that began in the original Resident Evil. Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is a unique action adventure that intricately reveals more of Umbrella Company's nightmarish plot and picks up just hours before the events in Resident Evil 2. The game offers more than 10 different types of zombies from both previous Resident Evil games and introduces new creatures. Resident Evil 3 Nemesis also contains "Live Selection" which allows players to make decisions that affect the story's outcome.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis for Sega Dreamcast features the following new enhancements:

- Hidden mini game "Mercenaries" is now available from the start.

- Ability to choose from eight different costumes at the beginning of the game.

- Enhanced graphics utilize the power of Sega Dreamcast - backgrounds and creatures come to life.

Resident Evil 2 begins with a stunning introduction sequence, setting up the story and introducing players to Leon Kennedy, a Raccoon City rookie policeman, and Claire Redfield, a tough heroine in search of her brother, Chris. Raccoon City continues to endure an onslaught of horror and fear as a mysterious, flesh-eating virus spreads into town and turns everyone it infects turns into zombies. Players control either Leon or Claire as they explore the entire Raccoon City locale with its huge 3D environments, and swarms of terrifying creatures. An advanced menu system allows players to make quick decisions, choose weapons and select items easier, and analyze information to discover important clues. The dark, edgy mood, engaging camera angles, ominous lighting effects, and shocking cinema sequences force gamers into a tense, totally immersive experience where players are literally fighting for their survival.

Resident Evil 2 for Sega Dreamcast will include the following new enhancements:

- The mini game "Extreme Battle" is now available from the beginning.

- Gallery mode allows players to view artwork sketches, 3D models, CG movies, and the different kind of enemies that appear in the game.

- Arrange Mode gives players two difficulty levels to choose from - Expert or Rookie
