AIA USA, LTD. GIVES DREAMCAST PLAYERS BLOODY HELL WITH ILLBLEED

APRIL 1, 2001 - Game publisher AIA USA, Ltd. unclogs the arteries of the horror game genre with Illbleed, an “A” game of horror with a “B-movie” sense of humor set for release on the Dreamcast in April, 2001.

Developed by Crazy Games (formerly Climax Graphics), authors of the half million-selling Dreamcast hit Blue Stinger, Illbleed gives a much needed transfusion to the “been there, done that” horror game genre.

Set in a massive horror theme park, gamers try make it through seven completely original theme worlds, each based on a fictitious movie created by a fictitious B-movie producer named Michael Reynolds, who offers (fictitiously, of course) a hundred million dollars to those who make it through the game alive.

“This game is not for the feint of heart,” says Ken Gratz, Director of Product Development at AIA USA, Ltd. “Illbleed is completely unique in its ability to make you laugh one minute while it scares the living daylights out of you the next. There are surprises at every turn.”

Traps, scares, and hideous monsters could be lurking behind every corner and the player must rely solely on the game’s sensory feedback (eyesight, hearing, smell, sixth sense) and the hard-to-find “Horror Monitor” to survive Illbleed’s epic adventure. Keep bleeding to a minimum, heal wounds as best you can, and keep the adrenalin flowing, and Reynolds may write out that fat (fictitious!) check after all.

Illbleed has enjoyed a blood bath of positive, pre-release response from the media. Official Dreamcast Magazine calls it “Bloody great!” and Gamers’ Republic Online writes that Illbleed is “funnier than an hour with Letterman.”

“The element of humor juxtaposes itself with the otherwise high-tension atmosphere to produce a very unique gaming experience – Crazy Games is extremely creative and clever,” says Ellen Fuog, AIA USA, Ltd.’s president. “We’re excited to bring such a terrific product to gamers. I think they’ll agree with Official Dreamcast Magazine – it’s a bloody great game.”
