Sun Green

From Sega Retro

Was Sun Green another name for Ming Super Chip? Was "Super Chip" a common terminology in Taiwanese bootlegs?

Hm. First I see releases by Sun Green, with their lightning logo. And then I see releases by "Super Chip" with the same logo. First I was thinking that Sun Green might be another label/name for Ming Super Chip. BUT. Given how these bootlegs creatively use language and titling, I have to think.

Is the term "Super Chip" common in the world of Taiwanese bootleg games? If it was, then this thought is probably going nowhere. But if it's not, then we've got considerations to consider. All of these companies were so closely-related anyway; I can absolutely image a situation where it's like "ok group, we've gotta publish this game, who's current Taiwanese manufacturing contacts and connections and get this game to market the cheapest?" and then the project got pushed to whatever company could best handle it.

Conjecture aside, I'm really interesting in how common "Super Chip" was, and what's actually going on with Sun Green.
