CD

From Sega Retro

I was thinking of writing more about CD+G and CD+EG, seeing as Sega consoles support those standards. We don't have logos so I thought I'd go find some

Philips has a nice little licensing page for various formats they own, including the various flavours of the compact disc. Cracking that password-protected zip file is an issue in itself, but it comes with a style guide which we're not confirming to. While I almost don't care because clearly the compact disc logo doesn't work well with small resolutions, if you miss out the "DIGITAL AUDIO" text from the logo, you're actually referring to CD-ROM. So we're wrong twice.

With enhanced CDs we're wrong three times, though that one's my fault

And the Video CD logo might make four. Although I'm not really sure here - this logo was used on products, but isn't "official"? Like they realised the Sony/Philips one was dumb and rather than pay a license fee to use it, they came up with another (there are a lot of variations)

Anyway point is, maybe it would be worth replacing this icon with something else. Maybe. -Black Squirrel (talk) 15:00, 13 June 2021 (EDT)
