WorldSeriesBaseball

From Sega Retro

For the record, I'm not entirely sure if World Series '99 belongs here, as it lacks "Baseball" in its name. It is a baseball game by Sega, but it's called Dynamite Baseball '99 in Japan. I think I'm correct in thinking not a single World Series Baseball game has ever left the US (aside from the Saturn releases).

Dynamite Baseball '97 and Dynamite Baseball NAOMI also exist as prequels to Dynamite Baseball '99, but I didn't include them because they didn't get western releases. For a sport that barely any countries play, it sure causes a lot of confusion. -Black Squirrel 11:22, 23 August 2011 (CDT)

There's also the disaster of Sega's League series; I still have to find out if the Mega Drive Super League is a port of the System 16 one... and the System 16 site lists severla other games as part of the same series. Sigh. I'm thinking a generic SegaSports template (like EASports) would be better; it can be split into series once we know where everything belongs. Of course, then you have series like the Let's Make series that would make that larger than EA's... - Andlabs 13:51, 23 August 2011 (CDT)
A SegaSports template would be too big, especially if you weren't restricting it to those which were physically labeled Sega Sports. Not to mention Sega's definition of "sport" kept changing - Daytona USA is labled as a Sega Sports game, as is Sega Rally.
A "SegaBaseball" template is more plausible... but it would still be massive. I don't even like sports games, it's just unfortunate they make up 20% of the Mega Drive's game library. -Black Squirrel 14:37, 23 August 2011 (CDT)
Well it turns out System16 thinks two games in the Super League series are part of this one as well. Oh boy... Actually I'm wondering how he's making these connections; maybe I'll just contact him - Andlabs 08:48, 5 September 2011 (CDT)
