From Sega Retro

Well then, that was interesting. I love the enthusiasm, but I also love not having to rollback edits and write these messages in talk pages.

There are nearly 3,000 pages marked as stubs on Sega Retro, and a further 8,000 sub-stubs, all of which have their stub template at the top of the page. Likewise "|this=" versus "| this=" - thousands of pages use the latter. The time is better spent on making pages not stubs.

Whether our page layouts and coding standards are right or wrong isn't really a fight worth having now - there are 18,000+ pages (or in other terms, 9 years worth of content) using the current scheme, so being consistent with what's already here is generally a better plan.
