Extra lives and "all levels"

During gameplay, press HOLD +++++ to get extra lives, and HOLD +++++ for an "all levels" message to appear ( and being on the analogue stick). The longer you hold down the buttons, the more times the code will apply, meaning it is possible to acquire hundreds of lives within a few seconds. It can also severely lag the game as long as the +++++ buttons are pressed.

Despite suggesting the "all levels" code unlocks all of the game's levels, it doesn't appear to. The messages also remain on screen for the best part of a minute, even if you exit the game.
