Fantasy Zone is the first Master System game to be released in cartridge format in Japan.

Master System cartridges are the most used storage medium for the Sega Master System.

Design

The Master System runs games housed in plastic cartridges uniquely shaped to fit the system. In Japan, the first-party games came in "Gold Cartridges", while the only two third-party ones came in "Silver Cartridges".
