Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal is an American musician, former Guns N' Roses guitarist, and one-time Sega Multimedia Studio contract composer, known for creating the soundtrack to the 1995 Mega-CD action-platform game Wild Woody.

Career

After hearing Ron Thal's May 1995 instrumental guitar album The Adventures of Bumblefoot, Sega of America soon hired the musician to compose the soundtrack to the in-development Mega-CD game Wild Woody. Unfortunately, he was given only one month to score nearly 30 separate tracks for the project. Thal recalls locking himself in his apartment for the entirety of said month, doing nothing but composing and creating music. Thankfully, he was assisted by drummer Brad Kaiser, and eventually the two completed the necessary tracks. When finished, he flew out to Sega Multimedia Studio to incorporate the music into the final game.[1]

Following his work on Wild Woody, Thal would not work in the video game industry again. However, two of his previous tracks were later reused in the titles Outlaw Volleyball and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction.[2]
