In the beginning, the 32X version of Doom looked more like its PC counterpart. In this prototype, the game runs at full screen and has many PC textures which were later culled. It's not an exact match - some textures are incorrect and the geometry has been simplified in places, but it is closer to the PC game than the final 32X build.

The 1994-09-06 prototype has no music or sound effects, always has debug information on display in the top right hand corner and has a clearly unfinished HUD. Running in full screen also comes at a cost, with the frame rate being far more variable than in the final game.
