I'm a researcher in the Shining series community who has been gathering information on the development history of these games, including pre-release and prototype information, interviews with developers, and the histories of the companies who have developed these games. I know Japanese and have been using original Japanese sources for my information and have been working to try to write an accurate history of these games while dispelling rumors and hearsay that have existed and been accepted as fact for nearly 20 years among English-speaking fans due to a a lack of quality English-language sources.
