Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders is an arcade game released for Sega Model 3 hardware in 1997. It was officially the first game to utilize the Sega Model 3 2.0 hardware, which ran at 166 MHz.

Gameplay

In Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders, the player chooses one five different Harley-Davidson models and characters:

  • FLSTF Fat Boy - Rick
  • FL Panhead 1948 - Scott the Cowboy
  • FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide - Dave
  • XL 1200S Sportster 1200 Sport - Anne
  • FXRP - Suzy the Policewoman

The objective of the game is drive from a Harley-Davidson shop to various checkpoints around Los Angeles, CA under a time limit, similar to Cool Riders, but now the player is able to roam freely. When riding, there are tokens (in shape of the Harley-Davidson logo) scattered throughout the entire city that allow you to gain extra points.

Sega would license the Harley-Davidson license twice more - for Harley-Davidson, a pinball game released in the following year, and Harley-Davidson: King of the Road, another arcade game released in 2009.
