Career

While simultaneously studying econometrics at California State University, East Bay, Hoyt Ng started his career in 1989 working at Sega of America, starting up the company's first US-based game development branch in 1990, the Sega Technical Institute. After leaving the company in 1994, he would do the same for Namco, joining Namco Hometek.

In 1995 he broke into the film industry with Paramount Pictures Virtuosity, working in the special effects field on compositing and technical support. Less than a year later he joined the start-up company Vizrt as head of Creative services and engineering support manager. In 2002 he joined DreamWorks Animation where he began his educational career as a lead training specialist. He ended his time with the company in November 2015, having been the head of global traning and curriculum for DreamWorks Education.

This was directly followed on-site work at the Haas School of Business. Since June 2023 he has been the executive director of coaching and programming for the career management group.
