Atlus (アトラス) is a video game developer and publisher based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. They are mostly known for their Megami Tensei RPG series. Their North American branch, Atlus U.S.A., is strictly a publisher, often localising niche Japanese games for western audiences and publishing games made by independent developers. After a series of ownership changes, the brand and what was then its parent, Index Corporation, was purchased by Sega Sammy Holdings in the summer of 2013.

On 18 September 2013, Sega would confirm its acquisition of Atlus' parent company.[1][2]

By 2014, Atlus reincorporated itself under Sega while it split Index's video game and solution assets into separate companies.
