Fumitaka Shibata (柴田 文孝) started his career with Sega at the Sega Digital Studio in Tokyo, serving as a Recording Director and Coordinator for Saturn era titles and a Sound Director and Producer for Dreamcast era titles. Following the founding of Wave Master, he has also dealt with music licensing and has even been an Executive Producer (for Phantasy Star Universe).

Since 2004, Shibata has served as head of Wave Master Studio following the departure of former head Yukifumi Makino.
