Bandai Co. Ltd. (バンダイ) is a Tokyo-based Japanese toy making company with 30 subsidiaries in 13 countries worldwide. It was founded in 1950 and is the world's third largest producer of toys. Its most well-known product outside Japan is the virtual pet Tamagotchi.

In January 1997, Sega announced a proposed merger with Bandai. In late May 1997 the proposed merger collapsed. On September 29, 2005, Bandai's management was merged with that of Namco to create Namco Bandai Holdings Inc., the third largest video game entity in Japan.
