Sega Rally Revo was developed by Sega Racing Studio, which was established for the sole purpose of creating high quality racing games. It was released for the Xbox 360, 3, Portable and Microsoft Windows. |
+ | |||
+ | ==Gameplay== | ||
+ | Like its predecessors, Sega Rally Revo is an arcade racing game set across a handful of fictional courses. However, unlike previous entries where the objective is to navigate a course within a time limit, Revo has circular tracks, where the player competes against five AI-controlled cars over the laps. The objective is to compete in and win a series of championships for points, which are then used to unlock new features. | ||
− | + | As was the case with earlier titles, little effort is made to preseve the real-life rules and limitations associated with the sport of rallying; there is no car damage, and cars will bounce off a invisible walls if the driver veers too var off road. Road surfaces greatly affect handling, so success is achieved by negotiating the environment and sliding around corners at the correct angle. | |
+ | |||
+ | The main single player game is divided into three "classes"; "Premier", "Modified" and "Masters", each with their own lineup of cars, and containing a number of three-race championships in which to earn points. | ||
+ | |||
+ | Prior to starting a championship, the player can tune their car to either "off road" (more grip and speed in muddy areas) or "road" (faster acceleration and higher top speed on flat sections). Some tracks are flatter than others, so choosing the optimal configuration can give the player an extra advantage. | ||
− | |||
===Cars=== | ===Cars=== | ||
+ | Sega Rally Revo features a variety of cars from both the past and (then) present, all with slightly different characteristics. 18 of the cars (divided into similar classes) can be driven in championships, while a further 16 unlockable vehicles are restricted to single races. | ||
+ | |||
+ | In addition, the championship cars have three liveries each, with the second and third livery unlocked after the player has driven a certain distance. Liveries are a mixture of real-world and fictional designs, though as with all Sega Rally games, some modifications are made to remove or replace sponsors. | ||

Many of these vehicles are much faster or handle very differently to the cars above, so perhaps would not neatly fit into any of the three classes (though they are still grouped with the classes where they were unlocked). |

This short article is in need of work. You can help Sega Retro by adding to it.
Sega Rally Revo (セガラリーレボ) is the fourth game in the Sega Rally series, and was developed simultaneously with Sega Rally 3. Sega Rally Revo was developed by Sega Racing Studio, which was established for the sole purpose of creating high quality racing games. It was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Microsoft Windows.
Contents
Gameplay
Like its predecessors, Sega Rally Revo is an arcade racing game set across a handful of fictional courses. However, unlike previous entries where the objective is to navigate a course within a time limit, Revo has circular tracks, where the player competes against five AI-controlled cars over the laps. The objective is to compete in and win a series of championships for points, which are then used to unlock new features.
As was the case with earlier titles, little effort is made to preseve the real-life rules and limitations associated with the sport of rallying; there is no car damage, and cars will bounce off a invisible walls if the driver veers too var off road. Road surfaces greatly affect handling, so success is achieved by negotiating the environment and sliding around corners at the correct angle.
The main single player game is divided into three "classes"; "Premier", "Modified" and "Masters", each with their own lineup of cars, and containing a number of three-race championships in which to earn points.
Prior to starting a championship, the player can tune their car to either "off road" (more grip and speed in muddy areas) or "road" (faster acceleration and higher top speed on flat sections). Some tracks are flatter than others, so choosing the optimal configuration can give the player an extra advantage.
Cars
Sega Rally Revo features a variety of cars from both the past and (then) present, all with slightly different characteristics. 18 of the cars (divided into similar classes) can be driven in championships, while a further 16 unlockable vehicles are restricted to single races.
In addition, the championship cars have three liveries each, with the second and third livery unlocked after the player has driven a certain distance. Liveries are a mixture of real-world and fictional designs, though as with all Sega Rally games, some modifications are made to remove or replace sponsors.
Premier Class
Subaru Impreza WRX STi SpecC Type RA | |
---|---|
The Subaru Impreza WRX STi was, at the time, the latest in the successful line of Subaru Impreza impreza rally cars, some featured in Sega Rally 2. This was the first car to be implemented in the game and formed a basis for all the others. | |
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ340 | |
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX continues the line of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution rally cars, of which many appear in Sega Rally 2. | |
Citroën Xsara Rallycross | |
Škoda Fabia Rally Car | |
Unlocked with 30 Premier Championship points. | |
Ford Focus RS Rally Car | |
The Ford Focus RS was last seen in the Game Boy Advance Sega Rally. This is the updated model.
Unlocked with 60 Premier Championship points. | |
Peugeot 206 WRC (2000) | |
Likewise the 1999 Peugeot 206 WRC was in the Game Boy Advance game. This too has been updated for Revo.
Unlocked with 90 Premier Championship points. |

Masters Class
Others
Sega Rally Revo offers a number of cars which are unavailable in championship modes. Many of these vehicles are much faster or handle very differently to the cars above, so perhaps would not neatly fit into any of the three classes (though they are still grouped with the classes where they were unlocked).
