- S&K was launched and marketed less like a game and more like a Hollywood motion picture. Pamela Kelly came up with the idea/organized Rock the Rock.
- "Round one" was a one-night worldwide Sonic 3 tournament taking place in Hard Rock Cafe locations.
- Winners were dressed in prison attire, had a briefcase handcuffed to them, and were driven to a nearby airport to be flown to San Francisco, CA (Alcatraz). This is hilarious.
- Alcatraz tournament happened the next day, with participants ferried over sometime in the morning.
- MTV was seemingly only involved with the Alcatraz side of the tournament, but that needs to be verified.
