Road Race (ロードレース) is a discrete logic arcade racing game created by Sega and released in February 1976.[2][3] Players drive down a constantly changing S-shaped track while trying to avoid the two other cars on the course or skidding off the track. The speed of the car is controlled by a foot-operated accelerator and a hand-operated high/low gear shift. The player's score depends on how fast they move along the course.
It is the first video game with a pseudo-3D third-person perspective. It was also the first game to use the modern Sega logo, which first appears in the game's Japanese arcade flyer.[4] Later the same year, it was adapted into several motorbike variants: Moto-Cross, Man T.T., and Fonz.
