On the Konami screen press (5 each) (2) (4). The sound of Sparkster dying indicates the code has been entered successfully. Then on the title screen hold and press  START . Works on the NTSC-J ROM only. The PAL ROM plays the death sound but has no stage select, and the NTSC-U ROM has neither.

After playing the game for a short while, pause and press (7) . The "pause" text will become mirrored. Press reset to watch your demo.

On the Konami screen press (4) (4) (7) . The sound of Sparkster dying indicates the code has been entered successfully. "Very Hard" and "Crazy Hard" modes will be available from the options menu. To unlock "Very Hard" only, use (6) instead. Completing the game on lower difficulty settings also unlocks these modes. Works on NTSC-J and PAL ROMs only.

Charging your jetpack for 30 seconds results in a small explosion and Sparkster being knocked back and stunned.
