Sega Pico console

The Sega Pico was a video game console made by Sega. The aim was to get more young children using video game systems. The Sega Pico was designed for ages 2-8 and the slogan was "the computer that thinks it's a toy." The Cartridges were called "Storyware." Each cartridge was book-shaped. Each time a player turned the page of the cartridge the screen changed to replicate the image in the book. The games were controlled with a "magic" pen which is actually a stylus similar to those used on the Nintendo DS. Also like Nintendo DS a touch screen is used, and touching the screen with the stylus can move a cursor onscreen. There is also a d-pad, and a single button.

The Pico won critical acclaim amongst Toy and Edutainment companies in the US. http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Sega%27s+PICO+sweeps+1995+awards%3b+top+honors+and+accolades+from...-a017815970 http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Sega%27s+Pico+once+again+recognized+as+the+leading+children%27s...-a018958803
