Going to split this page, and AM3, and whatever else, by name. This means there will be a [[Sega R&D 1]] page for 1983-1990 and a [[Sega Software R&D Dept. 1]] page for 1999.

This is because officially the group was not known as "Sega AM1" during these periods. This is unlike AM2, which ''was'' known as AM2 in its games, even if the official name said otherwise. For the record

Going to split this page, and AM3, and whatever else, by name. This means there will be a Sega R&D 1 page for 1983-1990 and a Sega Software R&D Dept. 1 page for 1999.
