Earth UFO Catcher was a browser game released by Sega during their 60th anniversary. The game parodies the well-known and popular UFO Catcher crane games, where the player catches items with a crane.
Gameplay
Gameplay is very simple. The player has regular coins and Challenge Coins. With regular coins, the player can try a chance to launch the crane and pick a random item. With Challenge Coins, they can go to a location where a real player, with its GPS activated, is. GPS can be activated or deactivated any time at the game settings. Then, the player can play a tap mini-game to pick one of the items this user has already got on their collection. There are 139 items from all SEGA history. Once the player gets them all, they get a chance to win one of the 10 SEGA 60th anniversary commemorative medal by draw. The game was only active from June the 3rd 2020, 01:00 GMT; to June the 9th 2020, 14:59 GMT. Once the promotion was finished, it was closed.
The items have detailed descriptions of many obscure Sega items.
The website could only be accessed by phone browsers.
