Debug mode

Enter a fight and either win or lose, and on the results screen press (YABBA DABBA DUUZZY) on Control Pad 2. A sound will confirm correct entry. Afterwards, pause the game during a fight and press the following on Control Pad 1:

• : Makes player 1's health become critical.
• : Makes player 2's health become critical.
• : Turns off the music. It cannot be turned back on afterwards.
• : Heals both players.
• : Each player receives one-hit damage. This will also make projectile attacks not cause damage.
• : Restores Inner Strength for both players.
• : Both players receive 20% health.
• : Warps the player to the Eternal Champion stage after the fight (only works in Contest Mode).
•  MODE   MODE   MODE  : Warps the player to the Dark Eternal Champion stage after the fight (only works in Contest Mode on Warrior difficulty or higher - playing on Champion difficulty will change the player's character to Eternal Champion).

Unlock characters

Hidden characters are normally unlocked by meeting certain conditions in normal play, but there are codes to unlock them immediately. The following codes should be entered on the results screen with Control Pad 2 in the same fashion as the debug mode code above. Once unlocked this way, the characters are saved to backup RAM. You will have to return to the main menu for the changes to take effect.

• Hooter:  MODE 
• Senator:  MODE   MODE 
• Slither:
• Thanatos:  MODE 
• Yappy:  MODE

Unlock Eternal Champion(s)

These codes are exactly like as above, but will only work in Duel Mode.

Bonus FMV

Wait until the Eternal Champions logo appears during the opening sequence, then quickly press  MODE   START  before "Press Start" appears on the screen.
