Kazuo Wakihara (脇原 一雄) is a programmer at Sega of Japan, possibly former, who started working for the company in 1982. He is best-known for his work on both the System C and Mega Drive versions of Columns, as one of its 4 developers[2]. Due to the name Takosukezou appearing the game's code, it may indicate this was a pseudonym of his at the time.

He was later a main programmer for Sega CS2's various tactical games like World Advanced Daisenryaku (and also named the drill instructor in Rudolph Rodriguez in World Advanced Daisenryaku: Sakusen File[4]) and RPGs like Skies of Arcadia, and a recurring programmer for the Sakura Taisen franchise. When Sega WOW split into 3 different department in 2005, Wakihara ended up at Mobile Phone Contents Development Dept., where he remained until at least 2009 when he was interviewed for Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.
