REDWOOD CITY (June 19, 1997) - SegaSoft, Inc. today announced its support for the new AnyWorld TM 3D engine from AnyChannel TM, Inc. SegaSoft, the multi-player game network and network game company, will use the AnyWorld 3D engine in Vigilance TM, a new CD-ROM game that will debut in the first quarter of 1998 at retail and on the new SegaSoft Internet Game Network, HEAT.NET TM
SegaSoft's Vigilance, a 3D mission-based action/strategy title, will be the world's first game to feature the new technology developed by AnyChannel, a Mountain View, Calif., company founded by Brian Yen and other former Sun Microsystems employees.

"After a global search of 3D engines, AnyWorld was our number one choice," said Gary Griffiths, SegaSoft president and CEO. "The depth and realism that it brings to the screen is truly breathtaking. Tools like the AnyWorld engine help us achieve our goal of combining the best entertainment with the best technology to deliver the most compelling video games possible."

The AnyWorld engine creates "photorealistic" 3D environments and characters that are far superior to those of any other engine now used in gaming. These environments offer "total immersion" because AnyWorld creates more realistic looking surfaces, textures and lighting than other 3D engines. It offers realtime representation of lighting effects, including secondary lighting (reflection of light between objects), color bleeding and shading and shadowing.
