Saturn version
Clean pause
When paused, press 
+
+
to hide the 1P/2P PAUSED text. It can be only be reinstated by unpausing and pausing again.
Change pad type before a fight
On the character selection screen, holding 
while pressing 
or 
lets you choose between the four control layouts (A, B, C and "edit") without going back to the options screen.
Play as Dural
Highlight Akira and press 
+. If entered correctly, Dural's portrait will briefly appear before the game starts.
Play as gold Dural
Highlight Akira and press +. If entered correctly, Dural's gold portrait will briefly appear before the game starts.
Slow motion replays
When "K.O." appears after defeating an opponent, hold +
+
and the replay will play in slow motion.
Play Virtua Fighter music
Before a match starts, hold on the first control pad. This will cause Sarah's music from the original Virtua Fighter to be played.
For Jacky's Virtua Fighter theme, do the same, but hold on the second control pad.
Fight the "alphabet character"
Usually when beating the game, you get to beat up the "alphabet character" to enter a high score. To have the character fight back, when the screen loads hold either ++ for it to use Shun Di's moves, or +++
+ for it to use Dural's.
Select characters in watch mode
While watch mode is meant to feature random characters, you can force which one is picked by pressing , or START when the cursor is highlighting the character you want.
Alternative camera angle in watch mode
Pressing in watch mode will toggle between the standard view and a more "cinematic" camera angle.
Windows PC version
Play as Dural
On the character select screen, highlight Akira and quickly press Down (default S), Up (W), Right (D), Start+Left (Z+A). Your bio picture will briefly change to Dural and you will now be playing as them.
Play as gold Dural
On the character select screen, highlight Akira and quickly press Down (S), Up (W), Left (A), Start+Right (Z+D). Your bio picture will briefly change to Gold Dural and you will now be playing as them.
Alternate background music
Hold down the following keys after you've selected a character and keep held until the battle starts to modify the music.
P1 G+K (keyboard T) - Sarah's original Virtua Fighter theme
P2 G+K (keyboard Home ) - Jacky's original Virtua Fighter theme
Watch mode content
You can cycle through various camera angles whilst watching by repeatedly pressing any of the R, T and Y keys.
You can force specific characters in the Watch Mode character select screen by pressing P1 Start (V) when the P1 cursor is highlighting the desired character, and P2 Start ( Enter ) when the P2 cursor is highlighting the desired character.
Alternate Costume
On the character select screen, choose your character by holding Up (W) and pressing Start (Z) to use their alternate costume
End of round extras
Hold down V+G+H at the end of a round (when the K.O. message appears) to trigger the replay in slow motion.
Hold either V, G or H to force a specific winning pose after winning a round.
Bonus ending content
If you beat arcade mode on hard difficulty without losing a round, you get to view a bonus ending video featuring Dural.
