This short article is in need of work. You can help Sega Retro by adding to it.
Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament is the direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Micro Machines. Initially released by Codemasters for the Sega Mega Drive, ports were made to the Sega Game Gear, IBM PC compatible computers, Game Boy, and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
A US version was advertised by GameTek but never materialised.

Gameplay
Micro Machines 2 expands on the ideas seen in the original Micro Machines, offering more than double the amount of vehicles, each with slightly different physics. Unlike its predecessor, the game uses the full 320x224 Mega Drive display (versus 256x224), which means more of the playfield can be seen at any given time. There is also more interaction with the scenery, with some objects reacting to vehicles driving over or into them.
Two variants of the Mega Drive version exist - one distributed on Codemasters' custom-made "J-Cart" design, and another on a regular Codemasters-style cartridge. The latter makes up for its lack of J-Cart ports by being compatible with Sega's Team Player adapter - it is currently not known whether the J-Cart variant retains the compatibility.
