The The Pad controller is a third-party peripheral for the Sega Mega Drive, created by Innovation. It is one of several controllers to be blandly named "The Pad" - a Sega Saturn version exists too, as does a Super Nintendo variant and possibly more. In other regions it was marketed as the Challenger Super Joypad (and similar names) by G-Force and Max Play.

This particular controller, as is the case with many products by Innovation, is a very cheaply produced peripheral which borrows design cues from its Super Nintendo sibling, despite working with a console with a differing amount of buttons. It is a six button controller with turbo features. The box, in an attempt to copy that of Sega's official Six Button Control Pad, incorrectly calls the controller a "6 Button Arcade Pad" (or "Super GamePad").

The controller was "followed" by The Pad Plus, which in fact adds nothing to this model, instead stripping the turbo features altogether.
